It was not too long ago that if a couple found themselves struggling with infertility, the only options were to adopt or remain childless. IVF and many other assisted reproductive technologies expand the dizzying array of options for infertile couples to pursue in their desire to have children. Some of these options, however, may not be consistent with Christian principles of marriage and procreation. Moral considerations include the use of various technological interventions, as well as the potential inclusion of third-parties through gamete donors and surrogate pregnancy. Other emerging issues include egg cryopreservation.
